Cancerbane is a mythical beast in Greek legends. It is commonly portrayed as
a multi-headed canine guarding the gates of the underworld. According to some legends, Cancerbero
has three heads, while in others it can have as many as nine separate heads. The term "cancerbero" is also used to refer to a vigilant and unrelenting guardian.
